NEWSDAYS: 61016 Train Text Service – Radio

465x200 - 61016 man textingWorking as a reporter in the second week of newsdays, I completed this radio package about a number which train passengers could text if they wanted to report any incidents during their journey.

The ‘61016’ number was launched by British Transport Police in 2013, however there was a new media campaign launched in December 2014 to remind people of the service.

I spoke to Chief Inspector Lorna McEwen from British Transport Police who told me about why the service was being relaunched.

Off the back of the package, I joined presenter Katie Mullock in the studio to analyse the text service a little more, and explain some figures and statistics.
